In association with the NKF, the American National Kidney Foundation
as part of CKD awareness week and the "Are you the 33%" campaign.
I adapted a script to a storyboard, created a clean and elegant graphic concept based on a lean brand, illustrated many characters, edited stock music and a professional narration, and animated the whole lot.
Inclusivity was a high-priority in this project, since CKD affects people of all ages and races. However, people over the age of 60 are more likely to develop kidney disease; as people age, so do their kidneys.
People at risk for chronic kidney disease are advised to get tested once a year - a urine test taken at the lab. The result is the Albumin to Creatinine ratio. This simple test can tell if your kidneys are functioning right.
Oddly enough, adherence rates are extremely low.
Offering people at-risk to take the test without leaving home has brought adherence rates up to 72%.
This video aims at decision-makers at various organizations (an HMO, an insurance company, a clinic or hospital, etc.) looking to save money and raise CKD test adherence rate among its patients, by allowing them to take the test at home, at a time that's convenient for them, using their smartphone.
Early detection can save an enormous amount of money for these organizations and improves the patients' quality of life - sparing them from possibly being dependent on dialysis or needing a kidney transplant.
An earlier version, aimed at the UK market, was released several months before. It was sent via email to multiple NHS officials and decision-makers, called CCGs (Clinical Commissioning Groups).
The video was adapted into a whitepaper infographic, sent to our potential clients via email. It appears on our website and blog as well, based on my illustrations for the CKD mini-brand.
